Demonstrate proper saddle fit, for horse and human and how it correlates with the

horse’s anatomy and movements from the show pen to the ranch. 

Discuss the common issues in the western saddle industry from dry spots to rolling.

 Discuss different features on saddles from rigging styles, skirt shapes and the shape of the ground seat and how it affects the rider and the horse. It’s the horse’s saddle, they

wear it we just ride in it.

Join me for a down-to-earth, no-nonsense (but slightly humorous) dive into one of the most important — and most misunderstood — parts of the horse: the hoof. We’ll talk about the simple, controllable factors every horse owner can manage to set their horse up for the strongest, healthiest feet possible.

From nutrition and environment to movement and trimming cycles, we’ll break down how small daily choices can lead to big improvements. And yes — we’ll discuss those mysterious hoof growth rings, what they reveal about stress, diet, and overall health, and when they’re totally normal (or not).

Whether you’re new to hoof care or just hoof-obsessed, you’ll leave knowing exactly what your horse’s feet are saying… and how to make sure they’re saying something good.

 Are you ready to swing a leg and put a first ride on your horse? Sometimes that be a lot of pressure both for the colt or human. Lucia will be demonstrating easy steps on the ground to demonstrate if your colt is giving you the “green” light or are you missing a prerequisite before getting on your horse?

 This presentation teaches our approach to working with horses through breathwork and self-regulation. By regulating themselves first, riders can communicate more softly, build trust, and reduce tension or behavioral issues. 

This compassionate, partnership-based method emphasizes listening, patience, and consistency, allowing both horse and human to feel safe, connected, and supported. Ultimately, a breath becomes a bridge—deepening the relationship, improving balance, and fostering harmony between horse and rider.

 Ride Sidesaddle at the Teton Horse Experience   The Idaho Sidesaddle Association is excited to offer a special opportunity to try riding sidesaddle at the upcoming Teton Horse Experience!  -This session will be informative and low key, perfect for anyone curious about the tradition and elegance of sidesaddle riding. -Riders will be introduced to the basics of sidesaddle, with guidance from experienced instructors. -Sidesaddle mounts and saddles will be provided—just bring your enthusiasm!  -Participation is limited to four riders and advance sign-up is required.  Don’t miss this chance to step back in time and experience the grace of sidesaddle riding in a welcoming, supportive environment.
