Off The Beaten Path Saddlery is a consignment store and more. We are a family owned business, located remotely between the beautiful hills of Salmon, Idaho. You will find used and new items for your equine, facility, home and yourself here at our store!
Our Mission:
To provide old fashion friendly, personal service while committing to help meet the needs of the customers and their equine, with quality goods at cost effective prices and the convenience of shopping locally. We strive to provide all the amenities and services of the large tack stores while preserving the small town feel.
Our services focus on non-invasive manual therapy that aim to improve the overall health of your animal.
Animals, unlike humans, can't verbally express their pain. Instead, they show discomfort through altered personality, behavior, or performance. Regular osteopathic treatments help prevent injuries and aid in rehabilitating conditions like arthritis and limb lameness.
The benefits of osteopathic manual therapy include an increase in vascular and lymphatic drainage, pain reduction, improvement in joint mobility and overall biomechanics, stress reduction, and overall health and longevity. Here at Horses & Hounds your animal's wellbeing is my top priority.

The Idaho Horse Council was organized in 1975 with the purpose of creating a united front representing horse organizations, individual horse owners, and others involved with the horse industry in Idaho. The Council was created because charter members realized that: “As horse ownership and use increases, so do restrictions in the form of administrative or legislative regulations concerning various issues including travel, trail use, zoning, health requirements, horse shows and rodeos, tax status, racing, and access to state and federal lands.” The original founders believed that unless the horse industry is vigilant, informed and united, it will have no appreciable impact on the myriad of regulations beginning to affect the industry.
Each year the Idaho Horse Council produces the State’s largest equine Expo which attracts exhibitors and spectators from across the United States. The Expo features highly regarded trainers and clinicians from across the state and nation, the latest in products ranging from jewelry to arena equipment, entertainment, industry-related seminars, youth activities, and competitions from youth roping, to trail events and even jousting.

I make custom 100% mohair cinches, breast collars and purse straps. I started making mohair tack in 2021. Most people do not realize that mohair is one of the strongest natural fibers available. Not only does it provide comfort for your horse it is also very breathable. This prevents your horse from becoming sore. My cinches have been tested by a variety of riders including day working cowboys.

Hi! We are Tayla & Hailey. We’re sisters who grew up on a ranch in Southeast Idaho where we spent countless hours in the saddle breaking/training horses. Throughout the years we encountered several different situations where we’ve needed Equine medical supplies or other preparedness equipment that one may not normally have on hand. The market was lacking, so we started making our own kits to take with us whether it was in the truck, trailer, saddle, or backpackWe decided to venture out to help others become more prepared while keeping our costs as low as we can and educate you along the way. We’ve carefully curated these kits and have taken the time to make sure you have all of the quality supplies you might need. These products, crafted with love and late-night dreams, carry a piece of our souls. They’re not just items; they’re a piece of our family’s heart.

The event showcases skilled riders and horses pulling skiers or snowboarders through a fast-paced course of jumps and obstacles. Along with the action-packed races, the event also offers food trucks, drinks, local vendors, and games for kids, making it a perfect outing for the whole family. It’s a celebration of winter fun, community spirit, and the unique sport of skijoring! In addition to the high-energy competition, Teton Valley Skijoring hosts a series of practice days where locals can try the sport, learn the ropes, and hone their skills.
